Our poor lil guy...

For many of you who didn't know Brixton had surgery on Monday morning. He was circumcised, I know they normally do that at birth. But Brix had other problems that prevented that. So we had to wait until he was a year old to set it all up. Nothing can prepare you to watch your child in pain and not understand what is going on. It was very heart-wrenching but with some tears and lots of hugs we got through it and made out way home. Brix reacts the same way I do to anesthesia, we both throw up!!! And he did a lot. It's about an hour drive from the Hospital to our house and he made sure all the fluid they put into him came right back out!! I'm just glad it didn't smell too bad, I'm not good at control my gag reflex. We got home and sponge bathed him and put him down for a good 4 hour nap. He woke up and acted like nothing was wrong! He wanted to play and run around, as long as you don't try to change his diaper he is good. It's going on day 4 now and he is doing great. You would never know anything was wrong with him. He does get a little grumpy every now and then but I don't blame him. We have a recheck appt on Monday and I hope that goes good and he says everything looks great!! Fingers crosses!

I know it's not a happy face and not something he'll want to remember but he was being so sweet to all the nurses.

Our family trip

Happy late 4th everyone!!!
Colby, Brixton and I (oh and Grimm) drove to Utah last weekend to spend the holiday with our families. It was nice just very overwhelming. Since we don't live there, when we come up everyone wants us to hang out with them. It's a hard thing to balance, but we are working on it.

He is getting so big!!
So first on our list for home was the Mount Pleasant Parade that have been a tradition with my family since I don't know when. I love how small and relaxed the little town is. To me it feels like they are still stuck in time and I think it's awesome. After the Parade we went to the Mountain Men fairgrounds, it's a funny thing. They dress all up and set up tents and have old fashion root beer and raccoon hats and a small little carnival for the kids.

That night we headed to Colby's uncles for fireworks, he lives with in throwing distance from the Nephi High School. The wind was blowing pretty good too, which didn't help when the fireworks went off. They were exploding right over their house and ashes and debris all over the yard. The ashes were falling so close that the field next to us started on fire!! Good thing the fire dep. was already and waiting for it to happen!

Colby's name was put on this statue for serving in Iraq. He is always pretty happy about pictures! :)
After that we had one family get together after another. It's nice to see all our family but we didn't have a ton of time so it felt very rushed. Before we left, the Thompson side and us made it to the Hogle Zoo.

He was ok with this rhino but wasn't too sure about the real one.
Brixton loved it, he wasn't sure what things where but he thought it was awesome. We went to the Bird Show and he was looking at a bird with Uncle Garrett and he screamed really loud and scared him and he started crying! I couldn't believe it, he has never done that before. It was funny and sad at the same time!
All in all we had a good time. It's nice to be home though, to sleep in our beds and not have to drive anywhere!

It feels weird to say but...Oh 29 how I missed you...
