I'm losing track of time...

Man, I have never use to lose track of time like this. It must be because I'm a mom. Weekdays and weekends don't mean anything to me, they are all the same days. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mommy and being with Brix, I'm just saying that the days just mesh together sometimes.
I've been working hard on trying to get my "inventory" ready for the Barn Boutique, it doesn't work well when Brix is awake. He likes to have someone to play with, maybe I need to do more play dates?? He loves my sewing machine too, none of his toys mean anything to him when I get it out. So I try to work during his 1-1.5 hours of nap time. Lol needless to say I don't get much done. :)
Last week for Labor Day we had Grandma & Grandpa Thompson out! I know they love seeing us and of course baby Brix but I just feel for them when they have to drive that far! It was a good weekend, Colby had a 96, he went golfing with his dad and Chris and Brix and I went shopping in Rancho Mirage. For Brix of course! Grandma and mommy love to spoil Brix!! I got essentials this time though, no toys, just new shoes and a very small portion of chilly clothes. Right now it's still 90 and sunny so we don't need winter clothes just yet. While we were down the hill, Colby and his dad put the "big boy" side rail for Brixton's bed. Transforming it from a crib to a toddler bed, we modified it though. We didn't use the typical white mesh side rail for Wal-Mart, we went vintage. With a 1/2 rod iron railing that matches his bed perfectly, Colby and his dad just painted some wood to match and help attach it to the bed.
I'm really proud of Colby because he came up with the idea, he brought the railing home and put it all together with his dad! Yahoo for Daddy's!!

What Brix and I did the last few weeks....

We love you Grandma!

We drove home just in time to celebrate Great Grandma Hatfield's 66th birthday! I can't tell you how much I miss seeing my families! I use to see them all the time, whenever I wanted all I had to do was drive 5 minutes. But now I have to drive 8 -9 hours, 560 miles and across 3 states. :(

So at my parents house Brix loves to help in the garden and in the flower beds. Really just anywhere he can dig in dirt. He's a true boy!! ;)

So we put on Shelbi's wanders and went out to help Grandpa.

I love seeing all the beautiful flowers Shelbi has growing at my parents house. It really makes me what our own house really bad! I would like to have a huge garden. I love all the colors!

We made our way down to Lake Powell in the 12 passager van! It sure was fun, Grandpa Hatty drove and me and Brix and Moo and Allie and Grandma went along for the ride.

Waiting for the houseboat so we can unload our stuff!!

C.j. got Brix out and they were playing by the dock.

Auntie Shelbi, Brix and Mommy and Auntie Allie
playing off the back of the houseboat.

Night fishing with Grandma & Grandpa

If we let him he would have stayed in the sand all day everyday!!
He loved it! Shelbi & I just enjoying the sun.

Ok the last picture I'll post today is Brix with the lizard we caught.
It took C.j., Kimber and Dad and me about an hour to get it!
Brix wasn't so sure he liked it. Lol

Our poor lil guy...

For many of you who didn't know Brixton had surgery on Monday morning. He was circumcised, I know they normally do that at birth. But Brix had other problems that prevented that. So we had to wait until he was a year old to set it all up. Nothing can prepare you to watch your child in pain and not understand what is going on. It was very heart-wrenching but with some tears and lots of hugs we got through it and made out way home. Brix reacts the same way I do to anesthesia, we both throw up!!! And he did a lot. It's about an hour drive from the Hospital to our house and he made sure all the fluid they put into him came right back out!! I'm just glad it didn't smell too bad, I'm not good at control my gag reflex. We got home and sponge bathed him and put him down for a good 4 hour nap. He woke up and acted like nothing was wrong! He wanted to play and run around, as long as you don't try to change his diaper he is good. It's going on day 4 now and he is doing great. You would never know anything was wrong with him. He does get a little grumpy every now and then but I don't blame him. We have a recheck appt on Monday and I hope that goes good and he says everything looks great!! Fingers crosses!

I know it's not a happy face and not something he'll want to remember but he was being so sweet to all the nurses.

Our family trip

Happy late 4th everyone!!!
Colby, Brixton and I (oh and Grimm) drove to Utah last weekend to spend the holiday with our families. It was nice just very overwhelming. Since we don't live there, when we come up everyone wants us to hang out with them. It's a hard thing to balance, but we are working on it.

He is getting so big!!
So first on our list for home was the Mount Pleasant Parade that have been a tradition with my family since I don't know when. I love how small and relaxed the little town is. To me it feels like they are still stuck in time and I think it's awesome. After the Parade we went to the Mountain Men fairgrounds, it's a funny thing. They dress all up and set up tents and have old fashion root beer and raccoon hats and a small little carnival for the kids.

That night we headed to Colby's uncles for fireworks, he lives with in throwing distance from the Nephi High School. The wind was blowing pretty good too, which didn't help when the fireworks went off. They were exploding right over their house and ashes and debris all over the yard. The ashes were falling so close that the field next to us started on fire!! Good thing the fire dep. was already and waiting for it to happen!

Colby's name was put on this statue for serving in Iraq. He is always pretty happy about pictures! :)
After that we had one family get together after another. It's nice to see all our family but we didn't have a ton of time so it felt very rushed. Before we left, the Thompson side and us made it to the Hogle Zoo.

He was ok with this rhino but wasn't too sure about the real one.
Brixton loved it, he wasn't sure what things where but he thought it was awesome. We went to the Bird Show and he was looking at a bird with Uncle Garrett and he screamed really loud and scared him and he started crying! I couldn't believe it, he has never done that before. It was funny and sad at the same time!
All in all we had a good time. It's nice to be home though, to sleep in our beds and not have to drive anywhere!

It feels weird to say but...Oh 29 how I missed you...

A simple Tuesday

During the summer's of the High Desert you have 2 choices. Either you stay inside until the sun goes down or you go to the pool and sweat it out! We have bouncing back and forth between those 2 options. I can't wait to be done with these place...only 3 more years! :{
I have been trying to sew more but it's just so hard when Brixton is awake. He pulls my machine off the table! The machine was ok, just a few bumps. He wants to sit on my lap, which is fine but he wants to touch the machine. He tries to pull the fabric when I'm trying to sew. Colby and I have been throwing the idea of moving my growing obsession upstairs to the spare bedroom. That way it would be out the way and my mess wouldn't spread through out the whole downstairs. I think it's a great idea, but I want to get rid of the spare bed. So I have TONS of room. But then what do we do when family comes to stay? It's not that often, but we like to have some where for them. So maybe the blow up mattress?? Is that mean? Another option is the pull out couch/bed. It sounds good but who wants to spend $600 bucks on one?
So in the mean time, I have completed a few little projects.

It's a super cute little bag. My sister uses hers for her scriptures.
This one is for Allie, my youngest sister.

It's for laptops but you can use it for whatever you want.

Oh this weather...

Well 29 Palms cannot make up it's mind when it comes to weather. One blazing morning its 107 before noon and the next day it's 89. Don't get me wrong, I can handle it. It's just trying to find things to do all day. Luckily we have great friends and on the day it was 107, we went over and swam in her pool. Brixton got to play with Shane and Steph and I got to talk.

Aren't they cute, found some shade and shared pretzels

It was nice, it makes me miss Hawaii. I loved being able to walk 10 minutes and be at the beach. I'm sure that Brixton would have loved it. He loves digging in the sand and playing in the water, we tried at Seal Beach in April. Was a little chilly so we didn't let him get in but we let him put his feet in.

I have been working really hard on my sewing projects. Mostly the ones I sell back home. They are just flowers but it gives me something to do and they extra money is nice too. I'll get my sisters to model them this weekend. My parents and 2 sisters are meeting in St. George for a Father's Day weekend bash!! It's going to be fun. We are planning to go swimming and do some fishing! My dad is also bringing his Rhino (for those of you who don't know what a Rhino is Google it. They are awesome). Brixton loves it!! It's like a 4-wheeler but better!
Depending on how this weekend goes, I might just go to St. George more often. I love St. George, I have been trying to think about where Colby and I will settle down at. So far Utah is our main focus, I would love some where like Seattle. (Dede knows what I'm talking about) I love the rain!!! It's just so awesome.
Hopefully I'll get my flowers done soon so I can share them.

I have fallen off the blogging wagon....

I was thinking that I would be good at blogging. But apparently I'm not. I thought that I would have some down time between Brix and my projects to share what I have done and keep my family up to date on what's going on with us.
This is going to be harder then I thouught...but I'm going to work on it. Some of you may have noticed that I'm bouncing between my blog setting and style. I have changed my setting so any on can read it, so family members can read and not have to log on.
As for the style... Like a dork I was looking at the "new" design for the blogs and I must have clicked on one not know it would change. So last night I spent about a half hour trying to change it back... I had to stop to put Brix to sleep. So hopefully I'll have it fixed by the end of week. (on my free time) hahaha
